| Introducing the Battle of Byron Fall Festival |
The first annual Battle of Byron Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, the 24th of October. Events will include a Battle of Chili, hay rides and a ghost tour of our beautiful haunted houses. Don't forget about the free concert, pumpkin carving and pumpkin pie contests, too! What better way to prepare for Nightmare on Main Street which will be held the following weekend!
While not part of the Fall Festival, Driving Miss Daisy will be presented at the Municipal Building on this weekend as well. Contact the Byron Convention and Visitors Bureau at 956-2409 for tickets and more information.

Judging the Battle of Byron Fall Festival Battle of Chili
1. To judge at the Battle of Byron Fall Festival a donation of $5 or more per person is required. Checks or credit/debit cards cannot be accepted.
2. For the donation, each judge will receive an official taste testing Bowl of Judgment. You will use you Bowl of Judgment to contain the delicious (we hope) Chili each contestant is preparing. A spoon, or other such implement, to get the Chili from your bowl to your mouth is also included. A napkin, to dab the corners of your mouth with and a delicious (we’re sure) cold, carbonated beverage of the soda, not beer, verity will be provided. Most importantly you will receive an official Battle of Byron Fall Festival Chili Battle Ballot, for use in casting your wise and considered choice to be crowned winner.
3. In all seriousness, your donation will directly help the Battle of Byron Planning Committee in bringing you a great weekend of fun the 1st and 2nd of May, 2010. We can’t do it without you. Your help is needed and greatly appreciated.
4. That’s it. Bring your hunger for fun, competition and Chili to this year’s Battle of Byron Fall Festival Battle of Chili! Oh, and don’t forget the $5 per person (hopefully more) donation.

The Battle of Byron Fall Festival will be centered in the historic district of downtown Byron. The fun will be located on Main Street, Jail House Alley and in the Park. Admission is free and the public is encouraged to attend, in fact we need judges for our Chili Battle!
